What ages do you teach?

We welcome children ages 8 and up, teens, and adults. Lessons are tailored to each student's age, experience, and goals.

Do I need my own instrument?

For home practice, yes. If you're just getting started, we're happy to recommend affordable instruments or rentals before you buy. We provide drums and student guitars during lessons if required.

I'm a complete beginner. Is that okay?

Absolutely. Many students start with no previous musical experience.

Where are lessons held?

Lessons take place at our East Vancouver studio, located in the Hastings Sunrise neighbourhood. Some programs and online lessons are also available.

How do monthly tuition payments work?

Tuition is billed as a fixed monthly membership, making payments simple and consistent throughout the year.

Can I book a trial lesson?

Yes. New students are welcome to book an introductory lesson to meet their teacher, tour the studio, and see if East Van Music Lab is a good fit.

Do students get performance opportunities?

Yes. Throughout the year we offer optional showcases, recording projects, band experiences, and creative studio opportunities. Tuition includes a video recital showcase at December holiday break.

Can I learn to write and record my own music?

Definitely. As students progress, many choose to explore songwriting, recording, production, and collaborative projects.

Do you offer online lessons?

Yes. Online lessons are available for many instruments and can be a great option for students with busy schedules or those outside Vancouver.
